militaryIt is military day here on Roto-Rx.  Dr. Roto salutes ALL those in the military that put their lives at risk for us. THANK YOU for ALL YOU DO!!

If your question was not answered this time, you can go directly to the source @ https://www.roto-rx.com/ where Dr. Roto will answer all your Fantasy Baseball and Football questions.

The Doctor is in...

Question #1: Who is better to start this week in "the big game?"  I have them both, Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre. - Beverly, NSB New London, CT

Beverly: Funny to think that the Big Game is Week 8 in Green Bay. But, you are right...Favre's homecoming is a big game. Dr. Roto really likes Aaron Rodgers this weekend. Rodgers tore them up last time they played (even though he was sacked 8 times) and should do it again. Remember, the Vikings don't stop the pass very well and the Packers don't run the ball very well. That makes for many balls being thrown in the air!

Question #2: If you have a gun to your head (sorry about that, we are military here), who do you chose as your fantasy QB, Drew Brees or Peyton Manning? - Wallace, MCAS Miramar, CA

Wallace: Bang...I will take Peyton Manning. No one calls audibles at the line like Manning and no one is as consistent. Dr. Roto loves Brees too, but Peyton makes mediocre WR (Garcon , Collie, etc) into stars.

Question #3: Roethlisberger has passed for a lot of yards so far.  Should I expect that pace to decrease as the winter weather comes to Pittsburgh?  Do you factor these things into your thinking when selecting players? - Michael, Fort Bragg, NC

Michael: You bet Dr. Roto thinks about all those things. I think about weather, play calling, sickness, jail time, etc. The difference is that certain guys can overcome adversity. As Clint Eastwood said in Heartbreak Ridge, "You improvise, adapt, overcome." The stars in the NFL do that every week. Dr. Roto never worries about Big Ben, Peyton, Brees or guys like that. It is the guys with less intestinal fortitude that worry Dr. Roto. You know who I mean...the guys whose hammies are a bit tight and the weather is a bit cold so they don't play. Pick the PLAYER who is a gamer if at all possible. Big Ben is a gamer for sure.

Question #4: So do I cut Kerry Collins now? - Robert, Fort Carson, CO

Robert: What took you so long? You should have cut this scrub 4 weeks ago!

Question #5: I'm dropping the Raiders defense.  I can choose between the Titans, the Chiefs, the Seahawks, the Panthers, the Texans, the Lions and the Browns, who should I choose? - Jeremy, Tyndall Air Force Base, FL

Jeremy: This is like choosing between lethal injection, gas chamber, or hanging. They all stink. Here's what you do...if your league allows it, pickup a different defense each week from the waiver wire. For example, this week the Texans get Buffalo (good matchup). Next week, the Seahawks get Detroit. See what I mean? You should be able to piece together a respectable matchup each week that way.

The Doctor is out...
